This is the most important video I have ever made on Amazon FBA! In it, I talk about why I quit Amazon FBA but there is a very positive & important message in this video.
In this video, I will share with you the reasons why I’m quitting Amazon, despite earning $794,561.47 in revenue with just Performance Nut Butter.
My Income Report
Revenue: $32,370.43
Product Cost: $7,693.92
Amazon Pick-and-pack Fee: $4,623.39
Amazon Fees: $4,322.84
Other Amazon Random Fees: $269.91
Amazon PPC: $2,691.75
Other Fees: $900.00
Profit: $11,868.59
I know it doesn’t sound bad, but the thing is I’ve only really worked on Amazon once for the last few months. It seems that it doesn’t matter if I work a lot or I barely work at all. My Amazon sales stay the same.
The Mistake
I’ve been having a lot of issues with Amazon, including one that cost me $10,000. What happened was I sent two pallets of Performance Nut Butter to Amazon. However, they claimed that they only received one of the pallets. I contacted Amazon about this, but they want a copy of the Bill of Lading. It’s somewhere, but I forgot where I put it. This issue has already happened to a lot of people. What I recommend doing is you keep your Bill of Lading, keep your weights, take a picture/video of the actual pickup of the product by the Amazon truck.
The New Opportunity
The main reason why I’m quitting is that I got burnt out of Amazon. What I found in my life is whenever I have a new opportunity or when I find something new that I’m excited about, I’m at a 100% energy. Over time, my energy kind of dips. I run out of ideas and new excitement for the project. When you find yourself in this situation, sometimes it’s better to find a new project that you’re excited about and your energy goes back up to 100%.
Last year, I was making about $3000-$4000 a month from this YouTube channel. Then, I started to focus on it a little bit more. Last month, I did $34,074 on this channel, 3x more than I’m making with my Amazon company. However, Amazon and YouTube are very different business models. My goal with Amazon is to grow and sell it. The bad thing about YouTube is I can never sell it. It is also not a passive income. With Amazon, once you create and set it up, it can basically run itself. And even though I earned more with my YouTube channel last month, I still made more money with Amazon to date.
7 years ago, I had a corporate job that if I work my butt off, I get a 3%-5% raise. To be honest, there was no real incentive for me to work hard and I end becoming really depressed. It was the lowest point of my life and I wanted to quit. When I ask my family and friends what to do, they all told me the same thing: You’d be crazy to quit! When I finally have the courage to quit my job, I went from earning $80,000 a month to nothing overnight. But, things are different when you set up a business properly. I quit Amazon, but my business will continue working for me. The system I set up will keep making me money even though I’m not working on Amazon anymore. This allowed me to follow something I’m excited and passionate about.
Launch your product on Amazon if you haven’t yet. But once you’ve launched your product, if you’re working on Amazon and you’re only increasing your sales by 3%-5%, quit and do something else that excites you. I’m still going to be working on launching my second Amazon product which is a cacao version of the original product. It’s because I’m passionate about the product and it excites me.
My lesson for you is to do what excites you! Don’t let other people tell you how you should live your life and what you should do with your time. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not always going to be easy. There has been a lot of obstacles in the way for me to create the Amazon business and set up the systems that allowed me to make passive income. The important part is you will grow as a person so you can overcome the obstacles that come your way.
