Working with a Co-packer! | Starting a Kickstarter Day #6

In this video, I am going to show you Day 6 in my 30-day challenge in starting a Kickstarter and a Shopify store.  I have some big news – actually a number of things that qualify as “big news.” But let’s start with the most boring things first and work up to the more exciting things.

First, I continue to send out emails. In fact, I spent nearly an entire day sending out emails to a number of different people trying to get them to allow me to interview them on my podcast. If you remember from Day 5, the whole thing was about trying to make connections with these influencers so that when my product launches they will share it with people. I have kind of gotten them along for the ride.

No, I cannot wait. I am going to show my bigger news.  So, my more exciting news here is that I got some test samples. I am working with a Co-packer right now and I let him kind of be in charge of coming up with the flavor. I gave him some guidelines. I gave told him what nuts I want to  go into the product, what kind of taste I am looking for, a few other little things like that and this is what he came up with. So far, this is version two. It is not perfect yet though. I am going to put that over here. It is not perfect yet. It is needs a little bit of work. I sent him back some feedback. That whole process has been extremely interesting and I made some mistakes. So, I guess this is some big lessons learned. What to Look at in Facebook Ads, Metrics, Columns and Breakdown

In this video, we are going to talk about the different Facebook metrics that you can look at including the columns in the breakdown. I am going to show you a bunch of the different stuff and what they actually mean. So, let’s start with the default one which is performance. You probably already have a decent idea of what is going on here. But, I will just review it really quickly so we can see the results is depending on what kind of campaign you are running so for this one I want conversions. This one I want leads filled out. This one I wanted link clicks. This one I wanted page likes and this one I wanted video views. So the result is whatever the type of campaign it is, the type of ads running, it will show you the results right there. The reach is how many people actually saw it. You can see – yeah here, you know, a different number of people show all these different ones. The cost here is the amount per conversion or per lead form which is very helpful. Then we have the amount spent which is the total amount of money spent on that type of ad. So, that is the performance.

Now, before I move on I want to show you the breakdown because I think the breakdown is really cool. It actually shows its segments basically. If I were to click age, for instance, it also shows remarketing and you can see some pretty valuable data. For instance, 65 plus, we are not going to get a lot of conversions. Shopify vs GoDaddy Pros and Cons Review Comparison

In this video, we are going to compare Shopify and GoDaddy. We are going to go over the pros and cons on each, which one you should use to start a website and an online store. All of that fun stuff.

Let’s get started first with the pros for Shopify. So, keep in mind that Shopify and GoDaddy are very different.  We are going to get into how different they are on this video and which one is right for you may depend on a few factors. But, let’s go to the pros and cons of each. The pros – First, we shall start with Shopify over here. It is built specifically for ecommerce so if you are looking to sell things Shopify is the place to go. On top of that, it has better credit card rates. It is going to be basically more money in your pocket if you go to Shopify versus GoDaddy but not by a lot. It is going to be a point something percentage. It is a very small difference but it adds up over time. Shopify has better Add Ons and Apps. So once again, it’s you are trying to sell stuff there is a lot of things that you are going to want to do to tweak it. For instance, doing retargeting type stuff of when people are checking out, sometimes you will see things that come up to say something like “If you who purchase this item also purchase this other item . . . .” That is not a normal feature in most ECommerce platforms but it is a potential add on. On top of that, Shopify integrates with Pinterest and product listing ads. So, if you want to sell things on Pinterest as well, Shopify makes that very easy.

Shopify Review with Live Online Store Setup in 15 Minutes

In this video, I am going to both review Shopify and set up a store from scratch. I have never used Shopify before so this is going to be an honest review. A ton of my friends has told me that Shopify is better than other platforms and I believe them based on the research I have done. The current store I am using is Volusion which I do not highly recommend. Other people talk about Bigcommerce, but overall everybody recommends Shopify. How To Set Up Your Online Store About Us, Contact Us and FAQ

 

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to start an online store and internet business with no money and. So my first question is if you’re looking at this video why do you have no much some money but let’s assume you had no money what is the best way to do it well obviously you need money for an internet connection all that stuff I guess you could use the library.

So let’s say that you could use the library which has free internet okay. So what’s the next step well what I would recommend is starting with Kickstarter you could possibly do eBay or possibly do Amazon as well but we’ll talk about why that has some issues. So I would start with Kickstarter you don’t need any money to start a Kickstarter page it is 100% free they take some fees there’s a lot of reasons but I’ll do a whole separate video on why I recommend starting a business as a Kickstarter and some of the quick ones are you get to do you do a lot of the work for free you just build the website you do a lot of the marketing all that kind of stuff can take place for free and then you generate a bunch of money you have days in the sense a Kickstarter in 30 days to raise as much money as possible and what this does is it triggers scarcity in people’s mind which is one of the psychological triggers people say oh my gosh I only have 30 days to buy this product and you don’t even have to give them the product right away. Why Starting a Dropshipping Store is A Waste of Time

In this video we’re going to talk about why starting an online Dropshipping store is a waste of time now disclaimer I’m about to piss off a lot of people and you know what I have some friends that do make money with Dropshipping but I personally think it’s a waste of time for a lot of reasons number one I think it’s a waste of time because you are building something that someone else can copy. So easily if I want to if you’re selling the Dropshipping website and I want to start a Dropshipping website selling the same products I can do it no problem the one thing I will say to that is yes you might be able to build better SEO or better content over time but I think those days are numbered I think that Amazon is going to be taking over a lot of those websites the reason a lot of people will go to Dropshipping website is maybe they need to buy camping supplies.

So they’ll go to your camping drop shipping website but you know what pretty soon all those people are going to be going to Amazon it’s already happening Amazon I think and the numbers might be a little bit off but something like forty to sixty percent I don’t know the exact number forty six percent of all ecommerce transactions happen on Amazon. So drop shipping isn’t really what I’d recommend I’d recommend building a brand I think building a brand building a company for instance I came up with this company performance nut butter it’s an it’s a nut butter an individual servings pack nut butter geared towards athletes and it’s a brand that I can sell on my own website I can create an Instagram page I can still (more…)

Action Items to Create a Brand for Your Online Store

It is the time in the course for this module on action items. This is the first one, the first time for you to do an action item. You paid money for this course, so it makes sense for you to actually just write down one to three goals and these have to be measurable things. I will use the example of my goal which is to make $5,000 within three months of starting this business – a $5,000 profit in my hand.  The next step is to write down why that is your goal. If it is like my goal of obtaining $5,000, why do you want $5,000? What is it going to do for you? Is it because you want to take a better vacation this year? Is it because you want to whatever? Try to go as deep as you can on this and really dive down to determine why you want to do this because if you do not have a good “why ” you probably are not going to be motivated enough to take the effort that it is going to take to create a successful ECommerce business. So, really dive deep on that one.

After that, talk to three people in your demographic. I am not asking you to do a lot here. Just three people talk to them and try to figure out if your idea is actually a good idea. What can you learn? Maybe you need to pivot slightly. Maybe you should be going this way but you just need to go a little bit over here. So, talk to three people in your demographic.
