In this video I’m gonna show you how to set up your Google Merchant Center account but more importantly this is going to be your product listing ads feed and how to set it up the first step of which is to set up your your Merchant Center account. So we’ll click on I just googled Merchant Center click on that click sign up from here select our country and put United States because that’s where I’ll locate it out of asana yoga pants’ website URL is going to be awesome new yoga pants’ calm on me go ahead and copy that put it in here put your name I’m gonna unclick all this kind of stuff at a different contact for no we don’t need all that just go ahead and click that click yes continue you’re going to have to basically claim your URL and the problem was I thought I could do it through Google Analytics you cannot you have to do this HTML file upload and to do that basically you download this file and Shopify you’re going to go to your settings files upload it there. So just click upload it’ll give you this little URL take that URL and then go to online store navigation and then you our URL redirects you’re going to add a URL redirect paste that in there oops paste paste this part in here from from this and then the long thing that we had in that last slide you paste it in here add your URL redirect I already did it I actually did it for a different different which Michalek account.
You can see it there. So the next step after this is actually getting your product feet and you can see feeds here right now we don’t have any feed. So let me show you how to do that. So to do that you’re going to go back here we’re going to go down to apps and depending on what platform you want you’re on it’s at this stage Shopify is a little bit different than a lot of the other ones let’s go ahead and visit Shopify app store search I believe it’s called the Google shopping up oops the Google Shopping app will click on this click get stall app at which point you’re going to click sign into your Google account let’s go ahead I went ahead and signed in and then just click allow then you’re going to get the number. So let’s say the account ID number is right up here I’ll go to type it in one one zero eight three three zero five four copy that put it in here confirm your account we’re going to go to settings website verification I believe that’s already done I already showed you how to do that Google Analytics is easy way easiest way if you don’t have an account setup unit or with instructions here.
I’m going to click test your domain the next step is after you’ve got that I had to fix something with my domain settings but it’s pretty easy to fix next follow these instructions basically and this is going to be creating the shipping method and I’ll go ahead and do this. So we’re going to click plus shipping method I’m going to call this free shipping because in my store everything’s going to be free shipping you’ll want to match whatever let’s say the transit time is two to five days and zero dollars go ahead and click Save test shipping rates alright it took a second to update. So choose a collection I’m going to call it homepage or I could just do all products maybe I’ll do all products just make it easier and then click publish. So now the products are being published to Google. So this might happen to you. So I’ll show you really quick I I was stopped because I had some errors. So let’s see what the errors are and it’s probably going to be if you haven’t done this before the error is in setting up the product category. So the Google and the GTIN is missing but start with the product category. So let’s say work out clothing. So we have a few different ones here we have clothing apparel and accessories like active wear. So this is we’re probably going to be around here clothing active wear.
So maybe I’ll even just type in active wear let’s try yoga nope basically you got to find what yours is. So I know it’s going to be under probably under active wear if not maybe then I’m just going to put it under the general category of clothing activewear because it doesn’t really have a subcategory. So then I’d also click tell Google to ignore product identifier unless your product does have a GTIN or a valid NPN then then you need to put it in but mine doesn’t because you know we’re our own company we have our own products see and one of the problems is only the first variant can be published to Google Merchant Center. So that’s another problem with doing this feed the automatic way but I’ll go ahead and save and publish it’s still I saw an error on the other one. So we can do that we can fix that. So there’s some of the product details well the age group say adult gender female. So now it’s successfully been published to Google Merchant Center I can click the back button I still have an error on this one. So view all I’ll fix this really quick just to show you again yoga shorts. So we’re going to call it active wear active wear we’ll go tell Google to ignore this age group adult female go ahead and click Save and publish alright. So there’s a few little minor errors I had to fix but now it’s good to go. So we can go over to our Google Merchant Center and once we’re in the Merchant Center we can look at our products and we have a bunch of products here it’s going to take a little bit of time before it officially gets approved. So these are all waiting review right now but you can see they’re pretty much ready to go and this item ID you’re going to use that in the next lesson to be able to actually make the advertisements within Adwords.
