In this module we’re going to talk about product listing ads which is one of my favorite types of ads it’s one of my favorite types of PPC ads it’s actually one of my favorite types a ways to get traffic to my website. So let’s talk about some product listing ads. So first off why product listing ads well they’re made for e-commerce and I mean this right here you can see why they have a price underneath a product it’s just it’s perfect for e-commerce it signals a strong buying intent when someone’s looking at a regular text ad AdWords ad they may be just searching for more information they might be looking for a hundred different things but with these it’s more likely to be people that are ready to buy it has the price underneath it has the picture it really signals that hey if someone’s clicking on this they’re committing to buying something or they’re at least more likely to be interested in buying something. So what are PLA is I kind of already showed you but let’s make it very obvious here these are PLA s and as you can see its images with underneath it you have the title of what’s in there. So if you look at the first one it’s yellow dance pants and then the price underneath there. So this is $31.99.
And then ultimately underneath that it has the websites Bdancewear.com my website. So once again these product listing ads are great for converting people because some of those clicking on one of these is much more likely to buy compared that with like a regular text ad below. So this one that says yellow dance pants sale someone might click on that because they’re interested in and buying actually this one they probably would because it does say sale and all that kind of stuff but generally speaking text ads when someone clicks on it they’re much more likely to be interested in learning and gathering information in general when you go to Google nine times out of you’re probably interested in information and text ads when you click on a text ad it’s probably because you’re looking for information when you click on a regular Google search result most people are looking for information once again product listing ads they have a price underneath them people in the click on them are much more likely to buy.
That’s what product listing ads are. So let’s start talking about them a little bit more and specifically on how to set them up. So the first thing you need to do is get your Google merchant account that’s really easy to do I mean if you signed up for Gmail before or Facebook then you can definitely do this actually I guess I should say before you sign up your Google merchant account you need to have a Gmail account but that’s step yeah to have AdWords you obviously need to have a Gmail account. So the next thing is to actually set up your feed and we’ll talk about this in just a second and I’m going to show you step-by-step how to do this and I will believe lesson two. So you can watch that. So the second step is setting up the feed then after that is setting up the ads in AdWords and I have lesson where I show you step-by-step how to do that as well I’ll show you the screen recording on what to do it’s fairly simple it’s actually it’s a little bit complicated a little bit simple now but I’ll show you how to do it in and then it will become very simple. So there’s two ways to set up your feet the first one is with a manual txt file you can open this up in Excel and you can manipulate it just like you would a excel file or CSV or something like that it’s a little bit ugly there’s some benefits we’ll talk about in a second for doing it this way but the other way you can do it is V an automatic feed and there’s different apps that work with Shopify that plug-in from Shopify into Google same thing with Volusion has an automatic feed and BigCommerce does as well I believe WordPress does is well with Moo commerce though. So there’s some advantages to the automatic feed obviously it’s automatic which makes it a little bit easier there’s also some disadvantages.
