In this video, I will share with you the different steps on how to sell on Amazon.
Pick a Model
There are four different models for selling on Amazon: Retail Arbitrage, Wholesale, Private Label, and Create Your Own Product. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.
1. Retail Arbitrage – This model is when you go out and buy things on sale and sell it on Amazon.
Pros: It is easy to setup and does not require much money to get started.
Cons: It’s not a scalable business.
2. Wholesale – This model is when you go to manufacturers and buy things at wholesale prices and then sell it on Amazon.
Pros: It is also easy to get started and requires less startup cost.
Cons: Manufacturers can cut you off. There is also a lot of competition.
3. Private Label – This model is when you slap your private label on an already existing product.
Pros: You are the only seller.
Cons: Other sellers can copy you.
4. Create Your Own Product – This model is when you take an existing product and make a better version of it or create a new product that does not exist yet.
Pros: You can create a better product and a new category. This would mean that you have a bigger moat around your castle. If in case a competitor comes in, it will then be hard to copy your product.
Pick a Product
How you pick a product will vary depending on the type of business model you are doing on Amazon.
Retail Arbitrage – You need to look for items that are on sale and cheap.
Wholesale – You need to find items that are not yet sold on Amazon.
Private Label – You need to look for products that have a lot of sales but have bad listings.
Create Your Own Product – Ideally, what you need to do is scratch your own itch. You have to figure out a product that you wish existed in the world.
Create Your Listing
There are 11 different things to create a great listing:
1. Main Image – You should have as little white space around your image as possible. It’s also better to use a computer-rendered image than a real photo.
2. Title – You need to include keywords as well as the benefits of your product in the title.
3. Bullet Points – You should also include keywords and talk about why people should buy your product.
4. Description – This is your last chance to convince people to buy your product so you need to hype it up.
5. Other Images – Make sure you utilize all nine images that Amazon allows you to have.
6. Q and A – This is a chance for you to get rid of all the fears that people might have.
7. Coupon Stack – You use this if you want people to buy more than one product.
8. Branded Content – If you have a trademark, make sure you get branded content which allows you to put images in your description.
9. Video – Add in a video to connect with your audience and show them why your product is perfect.
10. Coupon Code – This will make your product pop on the search results and make people feel like they’re getting a good deal.
11. Reviews – You have to do whatever you can to get 5-star reviews.
Launch Your Product
The key is to get as many sales and reviews as quickly as possible. What I recommend doing is the Product Launch Group. Aside from getting sales and reviews, the people in the group will also help you create a better product. Ideally, you build your group at least a month before the launch.
Keep Selling
Below are two methods to make sure your sales continue to grow after launching:
Amazon PPC – You tell Amazon where you want your ads to show up. You pay a little every time someone clicks on your ad.
Drive Traffic – You can drive external traffic to your product page through Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube among others.
