#1 Reason Why YOU Will Fail with Amazon FBA

 

 

In this video we’re gonna talk about the number one reason people fail with Amazon FBA and I’m gonna show you some examples right here. So what is the number one reason people fail with Amazon FBA well there’s probably three main reasons actually III can there I’ll narrow it down to one reason at the end of the video but if I had to come up with one I’d actually said there’s three different ones. So number one your product sucks number two your product page sucks and number three you have no strategy you have no strategy for getting reviews you’ve no strategy for marketing all these different things. So let’s break down each one of these and then we’ll talk about what the number one reason that people fail with Amazon.

1. Your Product Sucks – So many people on Amazon selling the same generic thing is everyone else I’ll give an example I bought some matcha powder the other day and there must have been a hundred different people selling matcha powder it’s probably the same thing on Amazon and it’s all just the it’s all the same to be honest with you now some of them might be organic or this or that but for the most part there’s nothing special about the product. So if you have a product that a hundred other people are selling it’s very very difficult to rank number one for that it’s very very difficult to make money from that. So to show you an example of what I’m talking about it you search for matcha you see there’s a lot of matcha here a lot of similar stuff and most of them don’t stand out I do kind of like the packaging on this one because it’s got the green label another example of this is the garlic press and most of these garlic presses are exactly the same it’s very hard to rank highly for one of those. So try to avoid products that are just a generic product I mean this one at least it stands out it’s a little bit unique it doesn’t have a ton of reviews but you’re competing with behemoths like this that have 2,000 plus reviews probably have a pretty cheap prices pretty good margins. So make sure you do not make a generic product you want something special something that is brandable and will stick out. So if you have a bad product consider launching a new better product or consider adding some kind of a feature or branding that makes it separate and unique I’ve used my example company to death but there’s a lot of nut butters out there there’s only one performance nut butter the branding is different than anything else out there. So that’s one of the things that makes my product unique can you find macadamia coconut or cashew nut butter sure you can’t find them combined yet at least but what makes my product unique is the branding.

2. Your Product Page Sucks – most people that launched on Amazon FBA their product page is awful just do Amazon search for whatever product you’re gonna be selling and look at how bad most of them are and you can tell that they’re bad because things like their title doesn’t have enough high quality keywords in it you want to see a title that has a lot of keywords in it that means that that’s someone that knows what they’re doing their images stink you need to have a lot of high quality images that’s one of the number-one factors for conversions is having high quality images that explain the product and now even with my product I need to do a better job on this I have five photos which is better than most my competitors but I could have seven photos and and they could be higher quality explaining the product better also the bullet points very important in the description also very very important let’s quickly look at a good product page versus a bad product page and then we’ll look at mine and I’ll show you what I can improve but quickly good product page here great title lots of useful information some good keywords in there and then good pictures we have really amazing pictures even in action lifestyle shot high quality bullet points like this looks like a product you want to buy and then of course down here the description that they use the brand enhance brand content but that’s topic for another conversation let’s contrast that with a bad product page and right away you can tell this is a bad product page first off they don’t even have the white background I don’t know how they were approved in Amazon I don’t think they’re supposed to be they only have one bullet point the product description is lacking it’s pretty bad there luckily they do have some at least some four-star or five-star customer reviews. So that’s good but overall it’s not. So great now let’s look at mine it’s packed full of keywords lots of good five-star reviews I do have some images and you need to make some better images here like this image for instance should be zoom oh it is zoomable now it wasn’t zoomable finally that’s fixed but you see that’s a comparison chart I have the package and then like nutrition content right there some bullet points I’m working on my enhanced brand content but in the meantime at least I have a product description there I do have the size one box of 10 squeeze packs I’ve answered some questions and you know I’ve gotten people to leave reviews of photos and videos. So that’s some of the quick tidbits but now we’ll talk about what the most important tip is.
3. You have no Strategy – So once people launch they have no strategy on how they’re gonna get reviews they have no strategy on how they’re gonna get traffic to their their page and this is critical. So just as a strategy on how you can get reviews I recommend I have a video up here I’ll link to I recommend doing a Facebook launched group to launch your product and try to get a lot of reviews you can also do follow-up email sequences you can do things like to actually drive traffic amazon PPC i’ve got a tutorial on amazon PPC up here as well but you need to have some kind of a strategy do some research and figure out what your strategy is going to be to get reviews and to get traffic. So those are the three factors and if i had to boil it down to one one number one thing i would say that it’s not having a proper strategy because i think you can kind of get away with all the other ones if you have a proper strategy now like I said there’s people selling matcha there’s a hundred people but there’s only three or four of them that are doing most the volume of sales and it’s because they have a better strategy than other people now that being said some days I might say that it’s all about the product but that’s not always true I think a high quality products very important but if you don’t have a strategy you’re gonna fail flat anyways.
