Exploring Expo West as a New Business | Starting a Kickstarter Day #11 and 12

 

Day three of Expo West, driving down there right now from Santa Monica all different food vendors get together again suppliers. So I am going in there for the Performance Nut Butter project obviously I got last two days I got a ton of free bars crossbars bunch of three samples like that I’m also going down there to find net suppliers top of my co Packers you’ve been great. So far later in this video talk about all the lessons I’ve learned from three days of intense just learning from the food space yes pretty excited.
Main floor like it’s been put into that second upstairs are all the newbies people like me maybe one or two years how to make that established and then downstairs are the people that are kind of in between those start upstairs you get out go down to the basement I’ll get footage of that well and then eventually when you’re big you’re one hundred million dollars go down here my plan for this show your upstairs network for those people get to know what they’re doing then go downstairs see where they take in a few years good ideas for booth and then lastly the demonstration here in the main floor it’s pretty crazy look it up view of the back there for people all kind of get free samples everywhere I got a list those boobs. So I’m trying to it I’ve hit most of them by this point it includes vendors defenders of nuts competitors similar companies and trying to network a little bit here and yeah [Music] here let’s walk through this pin is where you get all suppliers of the Packers I kind of stuff interview shot down there a little bit common here.

They freeze is a three-day event here at the convention center after all this I learned a lot and i highly recommend if you’re going to get into the food industry come here come back to the west is also an expo e main things i learned we’re number one it’s a everyone’s digging and I’m hoping to Zack what i mean by that everybody is going in the region that’s what everyone’s trying to do and everybody in my product demos going have to double any along I’m not trying to be the one of this I’m trying to do direct to consumer online sales amazon my own website in most the companies that talk to you they’re not doing that they’re all due to retail. So I think that’s an old model that work you know ten years ago but now most people are doing I think there’s a lot of room for directories in percent. So the other thing is the millennial mom loves we’re going up wanting along those definitely the people that are buying nut butters for their kids but that’s not one personally trying to sorry I’m trying to go after it performance athletes the person that’s really into their dive into exercise ensure some people might live to their kids that’s not live target demographic that’s it kind of makes me feel get a big they feel better about this product because I’m doing something different than everybody else here with both in-house applying it to the consumer some timing for margins for me and the demographics on going after next thing I realized is a lot of people here a lot of people especially some of the newer businesses don’t know a lot about business they don’t know what they’re doing it they’re successful and I think I can you think that’s what. So I seeing some of these peoples kind of motivating to see I’m like all right well if this guy can do it I can do it as well I’m not trying to get ahead of myself because I haven’t done anything yet everybody here everybody presenting here is much more successful in the food industry that I am. So you know I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but it is kind of a good feeling to see someone and you’re like all right well if that person you can do it there’s nothing special about them maybe I can do it as well the number of three things maybe a little bit more humbling is it is intimidating see a lot of people that are very successful can you see and you talk to them to tell me your idea and they kind of shit off the kind of say like now that’s a bad idea and they don’t say necessarily all the time in their words would say with their faces. So that definitely humbled me a little bit maybe rethink things and I do think a little bit of doubt there’s a good thing I think you should everyone’s to all get checking need you to kind of have all your friends and say that’s a great idea that’s a great idea but if you don’t have someone check you every once in a while and tell you hey here’s an issue you didn’t think about you’re going to go into a blinded you’re going to fail because the kubera. So hopefully those are the top three thing that I learned from this there’s some other stuff too I met with my co maker I met with some people are going to see why not I met with the person that’s going to the packaging there was a lot of really great people here once again to try to get into tech the way to go but you know a ton of r example I’ve got about three or four back or just cool somewhat healthy nutritional snack that’s it for this video this is another day in the making of my product
