I will share to you some of my proven tips for adding products to your online store to ensure that the people who come to your website will more likely to buy your products.
What should your product be named? This is a classic question. There are times when your customers refer to your product with a different name. For example, in our website Bdancewear.com, some people refer to our high waist shorts as fold over shorts. So, what name should we use to refer to the same product? This is when you need to check which product name has the most views. One way to find out this is to do keyword research.
I also have a video that talks about How To Do Keyword Research and Use Google Keyword Planner properly. You should use Keyword Planner to figure out how often specific keywords are used by people when searching in the internet. Through Google Adwords Keyword Planner, you will have an idea how often is a keyword such as “fold over shorts” is used versus the keyword “high waist shorts”.
2. SEOd Properly
On-Page SEO is crucial when adding products to your store. It is one of the most important things for your ecommerce site. I also have a video about On Page SEO, feel free to watch it. I also have an ecommerce success pack that contains SEO checklist that you might want to check. This success pack will give you a list that ensures your On-Page SEO is in order.
3. Good Product Description
Your product description should be SEO friendly. This means that the keyword you use to make your site rank is sprinkled in two or three sentences. However, when sprinkling some keywords in your sentences see to it that they look natural. Product description should be written in only a few sentences. When writing product description you should mention the benefits and not just the features of your product. Please note that this is something that humans will read. Those people that visit your website will certainly read the product description before they decide to buy. So, avoid boring descriptions and instead write one that is engaging and unique to increase the likelihood of more people buying your products on your website.
4. High Quality Images
Never make the mistake of skimping on this one. Hire models and professional photographers. Well, based on my experience, taking pictures of your products using non-models will more likely result in awful pictures. But, a product image taken by a professional will surely make a huge difference. If you cannot hire a photographer, you can buy stock photos instead. It is also best to have humans on your picture. Your images also need to have a white background.
5. Big Images
Bigger is better. However, see to it that the image is not way too big but just big enough that people will be able to see clearly the entire details of your product. Bigger pictures will make it easier for them to examine your product.
6. Multiple Angles
When taking pictures of your product, make sure as well that it shows different angles of the product. These multiple angles will give your customers an idea what is it like to own your product.
